The hotel is small and uniquely designed. My room was second floor with a large patio shared with one other room. The location in Mexico City was perfect to get to the Historic District or the museums. Very safe neighborhood. Good restaurants nearby. Great spa (Hera) across the street that does a fabulous massage. I would recommend and I would go back.
No complaints. My trip was very smoothe, successful.
The staff at reception were extremely helpful and pleasant. I loved the layout of the hotel with its garden and outside areas. It was a very relaxing and safe place to stay in Mexico City, and I liked the fact that it was close to but not in the centre of the action. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The price is reasonable. The location is ideal - close to Paseo de la Reforma, the Metro, many restaurants, cafes, banks, museums. The staff is very helpful and provide excellent guidance or suggestions. The hotel is comfortable and has an excellent courtyard. It is a quiet hotel. It attracts intelligent and engaging guests.
The location was very good for us. We had never been to Mexico City before, so we had to make a guess about where to stay first off. And this was a good choice. Easy area to walk around, and safe day and night. The staff were very very helpful for all of our questions about the city, and even for bus travel out of the city at the end of our stay.
The included breakfast is quite 'simple', but sufficient if you are a light eater in the morning. There is a larger menu that you can purchase from.
Great location , close to downtown Mexico (historical) , friendly bilingual staff (espanol / English) , safe affordable , comfortable quiet room , instructive local area maps from the reception (subway,Bus,taxi) ... nice stay over all ... (6 days , king bed room)
the location of being accesible to and from diferent parts to the city..the friendiless of the the day shift clerk[veronica] and the cleaning lady that sewed my button.
unable to get answer about finding a phone directory and the answer that we got from the night clerk.... not having a tv
Competent staff, lovely gardens, adequate room, convenient location.
Although my reservation indicated that breakfast was included, it is only the continental breakfast that's included, something I wasn't told until check-out when I questioned the extra 180 pesos on the bill.
Staff great, informative. Took care of the one problem we did have there. Location is fabulous for Embassy business.
It was very cold & they have the space heaters to go off every 10 minutes. They would not turn back on without being shut off for about 3 minutes. Very frustrating to begin with, more so in the middle of the night when you just want to go back to sleep. I woke up crying the first day I was so cold. They brought us a 2nd heater the 1st night, same thing. WThey did switch us to a suite the next day with a regular radiator heater that worked well. However, the other type of heater that was in the room, the same as the other 2 malfunctioning ones in the other room, did the same 10 minute performance. So this is something they have done to keep costs down. Not cool. I was seriously freezing.
Great place to stay and central, safe location. The staff is super nice! Room is very clean and the staff takes pride in their work. I would call this a "mid-level" hotel, not luxury but also not economy bare bones. It met my needs and is a good deal.
Well, my bed was extremely firm and my room was close to the front door, sometimes with noisy guests walking by. Even so, I have to say this is still a great place and I will return.
There's a lovely courtyard to relax in. The breakfasts are fresh and good, and a nice way to meet other travellers. The value is excellent. And the service is above and beyond: When I got back home, I thought I'd left behind a souvenir I'd bought on my trip (though I later found it). I wrote Blanca to ask if it had been discovered in my room. She responded that it hadn't been found, but she would send someone out to buy me another one and mail it to me if I wished!
I have been helped very well by the hotel staf. The hotel is existing from different buildings next to eachother and located all in a garden in the hart of the city. The rooms were clean and having high ceiling. Furnutures are colonial like, very nice. Bed was comfortable and room was very large, spacy. Bathroom is also large and celan. Breakfast is till 11am, which is not very common. And it is not that expensive considering the location.
Ther was noting I did not like...
We really enjoyed our stay here, it was a home away from home we felt so peaceful here away from the hustle and bustle of Mexico City. The court yard setting was very pleasing and the flowers and fountain so delightful and restfull after a day of touring. We even met the owners sister who was staying there this made it so much moreenjoyable. A delghtful place.Lili.
The T.V. in our room was too small, and the paintings on the wallof our room of previous guests was a bit daunting to say the least. One felt their eyes upon them. I think they should all be relegated to another place and replaced by pleasant scenes as seen on the wallsof the sitting rooms. The room was spacious, andthe bed wide and very comfortable, but the portraits have got to go. Lili
Warm friendly atmosphere. Attractive gardens and patios.
Hot water heater kept turning off. No TV. Safe not functioning. Street noise in room 127 annoying.
The location can't be beat, a very safe and easily accessible neighborhood, walk to Zona Rosa, great restaurants, Chaputalpec Park, Anthropoligical Museum, movie theater, the subway, etc. The grounds are very pretty and nice setting for hanging outside, having a beer and enjoying the night air. The staff is very helpful and kind.
We liked Casa Gonzalez, however the rooms felt worn out....the towels skimpy/shabby and old, the curtains were torn. We've stayed there before 4 years ago and feel that if they would improve some of these things, it would be a lot nicer. Otherwise, a very nice atmosphere in general and we would still recommend it for the price.
The courtyard area is very pleasant, the continental breakfast, good location for Zona Rosa and Condesa.
The room was small and the bed extremely firm, the curtains did not keep out the lights in the courtyard.
